XRP (XRP) price and market data

Layer 1 network · Payments

Short answer: XRP is the native asset of the XRP Ledger, a payments network built for fast cross-border settlement. The panel below loads its live price, market cap, volume, supply, and 24h/7d/30d performance from named public sources with the as-of time printed on it. The sections after it explain what XRP is and how it works, without quoting prices that would go stale.

What is XRP?

XRP is the native asset of the XRP Ledger, a payments-focused blockchain built to move value between currencies quickly and cheaply. Transactions settle in roughly three to five seconds, and XRP is positioned as a bridge asset: value converts into XRP, crosses the ledger, and converts out into another currency, avoiding the pre-funded foreign accounts that correspondent banking requires.

The ledger uses neither mining nor staking. A set of validators, organized through Unique Node Lists that participants choose, agrees on the order of transactions by consensus voting. That is why the network uses little energy, and also why its decentralization depends on who runs validators and whose lists participants trust.

How XRP works

  • All 100 billion XRP were created at the ledger's launch; no new XRP is ever issued, and a large share was placed in escrow with scheduled monthly releases.
  • Each transaction pays a tiny fee that is destroyed rather than paid to validators, slowly reducing supply and making spam expensive.
  • Validators reach agreement through overlapping trust lists (Unique Node Lists); a supermajority must agree before a ledger version is final.
  • XRP also serves as the anti-spam reserve: accounts must hold a small XRP balance to exist on the ledger.

The risk, in plain terms

XRP's value leans on adoption of one payments network and one company's ecosystem, and its escrowed supply and long regulatory history are specific risks to weigh.

Every figure on this page comes from the named public source printed beside it. If a feed fails, the panel says so instead of presenting old numbers as live. Read the methodology for how CryptosEyes sources market data, and the disclaimer before acting on anything you read here.

Frequently asked questions

What is the current price of XRP?

The live panel at the top of this page shows the latest XRP price in US dollars, loaded in your browser from the CoinGecko public market API with the CoinPaprika public API as fallback. It refreshes about every two minutes while the page is open and prints its source and as-of time beside the figures. An aggregator price is a market-wide average across exchanges; a single exchange can quote slightly higher or lower at the same moment.

How is XRP's market cap calculated?

Market capitalization is the current price multiplied by the circulating supply, the amount of XRP in public hands as reported by the data source. Where the source publishes total and maximum supply, this page shows those beside the circulating figure so the gap is visible. Market cap values the circulating coins at today's price; it is not the amount of money anyone has invested in the asset, and it moves whenever either the price or the reported supply changes.

Is XRP a good investment?

CryptosEyes does not make that call for any asset. This page publishes market data with named sources and explains how XRP works, so you can judge it against your own research. The risk to understand first: XRP's value leans on adoption of one payments network and one company's ecosystem, and its escrowed supply and long regulatory history are specific risks to weigh.
