Weekly Movers

Top 10 gainers and losers, every week

Short answer: each edition freezes the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, ranks the ten biggest 7-day gains and the ten biggest 7-day losses inside that universe, and then researches why each coin moved. Confirmed catalysts are cited; where none can be confirmed, the edition says so and sticks to observable facts.

This is a record of what happened, not a view of what happens next. It carries no price predictions and no recommendations.

How an edition is built

The universe is the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization at the snapshot moment, priced in US dollars. Ranking is by the source's reported 7-day percentage change; the 24-hour and 30-day columns are context, not ranking inputs. Stablecoins that report a 7-day change are ranked like everything else; a coin with no 7-day figure in the feed is excluded from the ranking math rather than ranked on a partial record.

Catalyst research checks official project and company announcements first, then reputable reporting. A reason is printed only when a dated source supports it. Anything weaker is labelled an observation (for example, a move on unusually thin volume), which describes the tape without claiming to explain it.

For live figures between editions, use the Markets scoreboard. Editions are never edited after publication except to correct a factual error, which is noted on the page.
