This was a down week inside a down month, and the breadth was one-sided. The market-cap-weighted top-100 aggregate finished the week at -1.93% and the last 24 hours at -0.69%, while the 30-day window stands at -6.56% on roughly $2.71 trillion of market capitalization. Only 26 of the top 100 coins rose this week against 73 decliners and one flat coin. Bitcoin (-2.36% on the week, -4.95% on the month) traded close to the aggregate, while Ethereum (-3.51% on the week, -14.00% on the month) lagged it on both windows.
The gains were narrow as well as rare. The tenth biggest gainer rose only 1.90%, and just two gainers cleared 10%. Among the ten, one move is confirmed (BNB's scheduled quarterly burn, from the foundation's own announcement) and six carry reported catalysts that cluster into three groups: regulated product flows (ZEC's spot ETF inflows, VVV's new European exchange-traded product), agreements and timelines (XDC's yen stablecoin memorandum, QNT's Clearing House rollout schedule), and product expansion (PYTH's wider Korean stock feeds), with PEPE's rise accompanied by reported short liquidations. The week's largest gainer, M, is also its thinnest: a 35.42% advance on $2.7M of 24-hour volume against a $2.19B market capitalization, with no confirmed catalyst found, and ENA and DASH likewise rose without a confirmed catalyst, both retracing part of steep 30-day declines.
The losers carry more supply-side explanation. Three of the ten reported catalysts are token unlocks or unlock schedules (ZRO, WLD, RAIN), one is a wallet security warning in the Polkadot ecosystem (DOT), and one is post-upgrade consolidation after a major tokenomics change (FIL). Five losers have no confirmed catalyst at all, and this edition says so rather than guessing. The single largest weekly move on the losing side, BTW at -33.57%, arrived almost entirely in the final 24 hours (-33.86%) with no confirmed trigger found. Turnover separates the fragile moves from the liquid ones: MORPHO, RAIN and GRAM each fell on 24-hour volume near or below 1.5% of market capitalization, while ARB, NEAR and ZEC declined on volume between about 4% and 12% of theirs.
